One way ticket || Bilietas į vieną pusę

Exactly one year ago we packed up our suitcases and landed in Brussels. This one year was definitely the year to remember for the rest of our lives!
Sitting on a couch in our cozy living room and sipping rosé, we tried to remember all the crazy, sad, funny, meaningful, happy moments of our Belgian life..
Miki illustrated them in a drawing, saying that the most meaningful things came out bigger than the rest..or maybe not?! :) We are curious to see what the next year is going to bring!

Smalsu, kas mūsų laukia ateinančiais metais!

Hungarian Dream

Finally! My first trip to see lake Balaton - the Hungarian Sea and the largest lake in the Central Europe.
Early 19 July morning, the sun is shining and  we are on the way. I can no longer hide my curiosity!
We pass Balatonfured - a popular resort town, which looks much more decent and spacious than Palanga (summer destination in LT).

We continue to Tihany - a village on a peninsula, we stay at a hotel there. The Tihany club offers us swimming pool, saunas and jacuzzi, while the lake attracts with the views of the sailing boats and nicely warm water.

We go and check the public beach -  we have to pay a small fee to enter, but the place is clean and nice. Time for another swim!

Next we climb up the hill to see the Benedictine Abbey and to enjoy the view of the lake. I'm challenging my photo taking skills but the pictures still don't look even close to the beauty we see. We have an ice cream - the best ice cream in the place as Miki recalls from his childhood summers at lake Balaton.
Inspired by the Hungarian authenticity, I try on an embroidered blouse with the Hungarian motives - looks nice but we leave it for the next time.

The lighthouse is forecasting a stormy night and warning the sailors. But the wind and the lake calm soon, although it's lighting, we enjoy that the evening is quiet and there are no mosquitoes. While watching the view of the Tihany Abbey and listening to the waves, Miki brings a bottle of Hungarian wine and Indonesian engagement ring. I'm happy and surprised! :)

Hungarian dream holidays go on - we are on a ferry crossing the Balaton - we get on the Southern part of the lake, where the water is even more shallow, so for a swim we have to walk 10 minutes in the water.
In local szarda we try a fish soup and a goulash - they are filling nicely so we move to Miki's childhood's summerhouse. So many memories and stories!

Vengrijos jūra

Pagaliau!

Man smagu ir netikėta :)

Miki, come hooome!

My dear Mikiniukas!

Now, that you are making THE FILM, as promised, my thoughts are coming to you through all the possible channels. So, this blog post is for you! All the way from Goffart to Indonesia!

It's been two years since we've started sharing our lives. Two years of love, adventures, risks, fun, cryings in the kitchen corner, holding hands, watching movies, making up funny names, panic moments, drinking coffees and going on trips.

We've been to the Baltic, North, Mediterranean and Aegian seas, but we swam only in one of them.

We've moved out of our countries and we've created a new cozy home with a squeaking bed and loads of visitors. It's the most wonderful place in the world!

We've even been through so many protein days together!....

You must have visited all the airports of Europe to meet me and we've made so many little promenades together.

We've wandered around Brussels with scared eyes and we've found one, two, three or more new friends. We've taken a lot of pictures and found nice spots.

We've experienced Belgian wind and rain, Lithuanian winter cold and Hungarian Easter sprinkling and heat.

We've spent so much time laughing (sometimes crying) from our own stupidity (or wisdom)... :)
So why don't you come home sooner?!
Cause I miss you and it's much more fun together!
Tavo mergaite @Goffart
2 days to go!

Robin & Virag discovering Belgium

This weekend our old and small Brussels flat is under a test if it can accomodate two toddlers. As well as we are being challenged with a "parenthood test"! :) Although these days the Belgian sky gets cloudy, rainy or clears up much faster than you can drink a cup of coffee, we were lucky to get soaked only once and even had a sunny warm day in Brugge!

Robin at Bois de la Cambre - no dogs in the playing field!

Sweet family photo on a ferry - just right after Virag paddled a boat! Not even some rain could stop us - we followed the ducks and got wet having approached a fountain in the lake!

Fun and films making team - age doesn't matter!

Virag rolling pasta for the evening pizza! Always good to have creative helping hands making heart-shaped and mini-sized pizzas!

On a boat in Brugge - with a captain repeating the same jokes in French, English and Flemish! Virag liked the sailing so much that we even took the boat tour twice!

Virag discovering being a film artist, meanwhile Robin is satisfied with everything - sailing, observing or sleeping on a boat.
Team photo after having the most delicious gaufres in the town (at least that's what they say at the entrance). Seems that Robin is the only one to take the photograph seriously!

Evening activities at home. Best seats for the best view are on top! :)

We had loads of fun! Robin, Virag, Max and Duda - come to visit us again! ;)

Sunday in Ghent || Sekmadienis Gente

Tiek daug kartų girdėjom, kad Gentas - vienas gražiausių Belgijos miestų... Vos valanda traukiniu ir pasijautėm, lyg būtumėm atsidūrę kitoj šaly. Mus pasitiko kanalai, galybė dviračių, flamandiško stiliaus architektūra ir tvarka, ir, ko gero, pirmoji šį pavasarį tokia šilta diena! Gentas mums pasirodė labai jaukus ir charakteringas
Visų pirma - tai Flandrijos sostinė. Be to, internete perskaičiau, kad Gente gyvena 43 000 studentų.

We've heard it so many times, that Ghent is the nicest spot in Belgium. Less than an hour by train and it felt as we had arrived in another country! Canals, bicycles, flemish architecture and perhaps the first really warm day this spring!
For us, Ghent seemed to be cozy and characteristic. First of all, Ghent is a capital of Flanders, the Flemish spoken part of Belgium.
Secondly, I've read on internet, that 43 000 students live in the town - this must be the reason of the joyfulness of the city.
We found something interesting on every corner - ruins of castle, old docks, bridges, Art Nouveau architecture.
It's definitely a place we would love to visit again

Čia ne drugelis. Tai du kabantys batai!
This is not a butterfly. These are hanging shoes!
